About Zach a.k.a. “88”
I’m a native of Austin, Texas but spent 7 years in NYC and now live in Houston (a city I love and that will be a subject of future blog posts!). I’ve traveled to 31 countries but my grand goal is to visit all of them (long way to go!). I played football in college and my number throughout my football career was 88, so some of my friends call me “88”, thus this blog is the “Adventures of 88”.
Why a travel blog?
This is not some vanity project. I just love to travel and want to write about my adventures, as a creative outlet. I want to build something. I hope my experiences can be helpful or inspirational to someone (and if anything, I will look back on them when I need inspiration). Few of the places I have been are unique and many people have taken similar trips I’m sure, but everyone experiences places differently and no adventure is exactly alike. I’ll write about what I did and what I think you should do too, in places as diverse as West Texas, Croatia, Nepal, and Argentina. I’ll even write about airlines, planes, flights, and airports because I like those things too (I fly A LOT for work). No matter what, I want to always dream big when it comes to travel and this blog is a step in that direction.
What do I love about travel?
There are many things I enjoy – what’s not to love about trying new cuisines, experiencing new cultures, seeing majestic sights, and posting on social media so your friends can see? (j.k. most of them don’t really care, just do it for you). But if I had to really get concise, its the visceral sense of adventure and discovery that I love the most – having a rough plan, but leaving time to explore, learn, and sense. I hope that comes across in what I write.
